  • NASA will celebrate its 20th anniversary with a party in New York City on July 21st. Nocturnal Audio & Sensory Awakening was started in '92 by DJ Scotto as a Friday weekly afterhours at New York City's Shelter, booking some of the biggest names in the business from Moby to Frankie Bones. Scotto will mark the 20th anniversary of his party—with the first one having landed almost exactly two decades earlier on July 24th, 1992—with an eight-hour event at the Music Hall of Williamsburg in Brooklyn starting at 8:00 PM. The party is headlined by UK house and techno act 808 State, who achieved mainstream success in the early 90s with tracks like "Pacific State," along with "Energy Flash" producer Joey Beltram. Other acts include Mark Archer performing as Altern-8, famous for heavy hardcore tracks in the 90s such as "Armageddon," and fellow UK house and techno act N-Joi, plus Girls & Boys' Alex English, NASA resident and Liquid Sky founder Soul Slinger, Amsterdam duo Fierce Ruling Diva, and of course NASA founder DJ Scotto. Some of the night's profits will apparently be donated to charity, and there will be a filming crew on-site to document the event for a NASA documentary.
