  • Robert Hood will play dates in New York City and San Francisco on June 29th and 30th, respectively. The Detroit producer is best known for pioneering minimal techno in the '90s, a stripped-down sound that's exemplified by seminal records like Minimal Nation and Internal Empire. Hood has been operating as a producer and DJ since those early days, also releasing under a number of aliases including the more house-influenced Floorplan guise, which just recently dropped the Altered Ego EP. In addition to producing, Hood also runs his own M-Plant label, through which much of his own material is released. These two US dates are his first of 2012, and his only scheduled thus far. On the 29th in New York he'll play the Public Assembly for a Basic night, where he'll be backed up by NYC locals and Basic residents Sleepy & Boo. Also on the bill are Massive Groove men Cylo and Maksim and fellow New Yorkers Artwurk and Dali. The next evening in San Francisco he'll play Icee Hot at Public Works, where he'll be supported by local residents Shawn Reynaldo, Ghosts On Tape and Rollie Fingers.
