  • Later this month, Ninja Tune will release In Motion Pt.1, the first installment in a new series by The Cinematic Orchestra. As their name makes perfectly clear, The Cinematic Orchestra has always been concerned with the relationship between sounds and images. With the In Motion series, frontman Jason Swinscoe invites other musicians to explore this connection too by composing new soundtracks for classic avant-garde films. In addition to The Cinematic Orchestra themselves, the first edition features Brainfeeder artist Austin Peralta, Grey Reverend, and Dorian Concept, who teams up with multi-instrumentalist Tom Chant. Each group or artist makes a soundtrack for a different film, from 1920s classics like Manhatta and Entr'acte to the 1999 short Outer Space. The compilation is due out at the end of June. Tracklist 01. The Cinematic Orchestra - Necrology 02. Austin Peralta - Lapis 03. Dorian Concept & Tom Chant - Outer Space 04. Dorian Concept & Tom Chant - Dream Work 05.
