  • Ryuichi Sakamoto and Christopher Willits are ready to release a new collaborative album called Ancient Future. Each of the artists involved comes from a different generation of electronic music. Willits is a San Francisco-based artist who's been putting out indie-tinted glitch records since 2002. Sakamoto, on the other hand, is a founding member of pioneering Japanese group Yellow Magic Orchestra, and has had a prolific a solo career is a pianist and avant-garde artist that stretches back to the late '70s. Ancient Future is their second album together, after 2008's Ocean Fire. It shows the duo crafting somber ambient pieces, occasionally complemented by Sakamoto's piano or Willits' guitar.
