- Nang will release the Italian artists' first collaborative album in June.
Daniele Baldelli and DJ Rocca will release a collaborative album called Podalirius this June on Nang Records.
Baldelli is one of contemporary disco's most important figures. His career stretches back to the late '70s when he became a resident at Cosmic, the Italian club where he helped invent what is now known as cosmic disco by blending rock, synth pop folk music from around the world, all pitched down to somewhere between 90 and 100 BPM. He's been putting out records ever since then, and in 2011 teamed up with fellow Italian DJ Rocca for the first time on the Space Scribble EP, also released through Nang Records. Stylistically, Podalirius is precisely the kind of thing you'd expect from these two: low-slung, synth-heavy funk and disco, occasionally with a vaguely sci fi feel.
