- Jacki in Exile (spin-off of the now-defunct club Chez Jacki) is hosting an experimental event tonight at Horst Krzbrg, headlined by Raster-Noton's Kangding Ray. The fittingly titled Dark Carnival Special should offer a charmingly bleak counterpoint to the sunny and festive weekend ahead. Kangding Ray is joined by another purveyor of glitchy, dilapidated rhythms: German producer Grischa Lichtenberger. More live performances will come from a self-described "immersive metaphysical digital experimenter" called Xorzyzt and Douglas McCarthy, vocalist and founding member of pioneering EBM outfit Nitzer Ebb. The night's DJ is MLZ, AKA Miles Whittaker, one-half of Demdike Stare and numerous other Modern Love projects.
