  • Jan Jelinek will perform a special set with Andrew Pekler in tribute to Ursula Bogner in New York City on June 8. Ursula Bogner (pictured) is an artist of mysterious origin who first emerged in 2008 on Jelinek's Faitiche Recordings with a box set entitled Recordings 1968-1988. The set was purported to be made up of early electronic experiments made by the German housewife, a collection which RA's Dimitri Nasrallah compared to Daphne Oramics' early BBC experiments. The name emerged on Faitiche again in 2011 with Sonne = Blackbox, an album curated by Russian-born, US-based Andrew Pekler. The duo have since been performing the material live, adding new improvisations to Bogner's extant tape loops, and they'll bring this performance to Manhattan's Le Poisson Rouge. The performance will mark Jelinek's first US appearance since 2010's Unsound New York festival.
