  • Capitol K will release a new album next month called Andean Dub. Ever since his first releases on Planet Mu back in 1999, Capitol K, real name Kristian Craig Robinson, has had a knack for blending modern electronic sounds with traditional acoustic ones, occasionally earning him the title of folktronica. He also has a habit of borrowing traditional sounds from various places around the world, which may be due in part to his globetrotting childhood (he was born in Malta and raised in Southeast Asia before moving to London). Andean Dub is the result of a 7,000 kilometer trip across South America. As he travelled through Peru, Colombia and Argentina, Robinson collected cheap CDRs and played with local musicians, becoming heavily steeped in Cumbia music along the way. Soon he started making Cumbia-flavored productions, most of which he posted on his SoundCloud page. Andean Dub collects 11 of these productions. It will see release on Capitol K's own label, Faith And Industry. Tracklist 01. Celestial 02. Yo Tarzán, tú Jane 03. Cumbiatronic 04. Cumbia Millipedes 05. Zokkor u Popcorn 06. Huayno 07.
