  • New York-based DJ Francois K will head back to Australia over the Queen's birthday long weekend. With a career spanning more than three decades, Kevorkian is one of the most experienced house DJs alive. He played at Paradise Garage, Studio 54 and The Loft in the '70s, mixed albums for Kraftwerk and Depeche Mode, toured Japan with Larry Levan and started up the iconic Body & Soul Sunday afternoon party with Danny Krivit and Joe Claussell. Australians may be surprised to know that Kevorkian also produced Midnight Oil's Species Deceases EP, their only release to hit number one on the Australian singles chart. Since 2003, Francois' Monday night residency at Deep Space has been a NYC clubbing fixture, featuring an eclectic mix of music which covers dub, disco, techno, house and hip-hop amongst other things. Kevorkian's third trip to Australia in as many years will be a brief affair, with two dates booked for the second weekend of June. Sydney is up first on Saturday the 9th, where the party will be held at Goldfish in Kings Cross. Local DJs Garry Todd, Matt Cahill and Ben Ashton will be amongst the supporting lineup. The following night Melbourne club Pretty Please will be hosting, with Mike Gurrieri, Mike Steva and James Belias heading up an extensive bill. Tickets to the Sydney show are available here on RA.
