  • Early next month, Eastern Electrics and 2020 Records will host a screening of Piers Sanderson's yet-to-be-released acid house documentary High On Hope at Village Underground, followed by a Q&A with the director and an acid-themed club night. High On Hope examines the moment acid house exploded in the north of England in the late '80s. It's been on the radar for some time now but still hasn't seen the light of day (save a few screenings here and there at film festivals), partly due to the expenses involved in clearing all the music for the film. The event at Village Underground is part of an ongoing effort to help fund a proper release. Naturally, acid house will be the order of the night once the party gets started after the Q&A. Terry Farley and Pete Heller of Junior Boys Own will DJ, along with Ralph Lawson and a secret special guest. Tickets are available here on RA. The trailer for the film is below.
