  • Robert Babicz is booked to play four gigs in Australia this month. With more than two decades of experience as a producer under a wide range of monikers, Babicz has remained a highly prolific and adaptive artist in the electronic music scene. Leaning more towards the techno end of the scale in recent times, his numerous albums and 12-inches have appeared on labels like Systematic, Bedrock and Triebstoff over the past few years. Having started up his own Babiczstyle imprint in 2010, the Polish-born, Germany-based producer has continued to release music at a rapid rate, already clocking up four EPs and a full-length compilation of his own tracks, both old and new. Although not quite as frantic on the touring front, Babicz has managed to bring his live show to Australia nearly every year since 2005, making him somewhat of a regular visitor. His 2012 tour will begin on May 12th in Brisbane, where Babicz will play an Auditree party at Bar Soma starting at 9:00 PM. His Melbourne visit will be at Brown Alley for an Electric Owl night on May 18th, where he will play alongside Ghostly International's Lusine and German duo Klartraum, both of whom are also playing live sets. The following night Babicz pops up to Sydney to help celebrate Chinese Laundry's 16th birthday, and he finishes his tour on May 20th in Woolongong, playing an evening party at Beach Bar which kicks off at 2:00 PM.
