Turbo Recordings will release a compilation of its new techno signees called New Jack Techno in June.
You might associate Montreal producer and DJ Tiga's label Turbo with electro-house, judging from releases over the past few years from the man himself and names like Boys Noize and Chromeo. But recently the label has been revisiting its techno-leaning roots with straight-up techno singles from artists like Sei A, Terence Fixmer, and Milano. This shift in direction is comprehensively profiled on New Jack Techno, which features ten previously unreleased tracks from current Turbo signees and some new faces as well. Selections on come from Toronto acts Gingy & Bordello and Nautiluss, Antwerp's Locked Groove, Scottish duo Clouds, and London newcomer J. Tijn, among others.
