- The Hamburg duo will release their debut album on Smallville in June.
Smallpeople will release an album called Salty Days this June.
Hamburg-based Smallville Records will release the record from the duo—made up of label founders and Smallville record store owners Julius Steinhoff and Just von Ahlefeld—following on a number of EPs over the past few years for Laid and Underground Quality, in addition to their own imprint. The duo's past work has leaned towards the deep house end of the spectrum like much of the material on Smallville, and RA's Derek Miller classified their appearance on the Laid Compilation as a "pad-laced synthetic daydream." Salty Days sees the two continuing their retro-tinged brand of atmospheric house, which a press release calls "house music that knows its roots, past and classicism, but is made with the minds and means of today." The album will be released on CD as well as vinyl.
