  • Native Instruments will debut a new group project called Mostly Robot at Sonar this year. Mostly Robot is the team of Jamie Lidell, Tim Exile, Jeremy Ellis, Mr. Jimmy and DJ Shiftee, and they will perform live together "synced only by the human element," with no MIDI or any kind of grid to assist them with timing. The group will utilize Native Instruments hardware and software for the performance, a venture aimed towards improving communication and interaction between technology and the artists that use it. The concept is inspired by live jazz performances, and will be presented along with a video installation from Berlin design firm Pfadfinderei, where the visual elements are determined by the Native Instruments controllers used by the performers in real time.
