- The Dirtybird staple will release his first album in May.
Justin Martin is ready to release his first artist album, Ghettos & Gardens.
Martin is one of the key forces behind Dirtybird, the widely-loved San Francisco label and party series. Together with his brother Christian, his friend Worthy and his mentor Barclay Crenshaw (better known as Claude VonStroke), he helped devise their first free parties in Golden Gate Park. When Dirtybird developed into a label in 2005, he was on the first EP with Sammy D. In the seven years since then he's played a big role in defining the label's signature sound, not least by adding a twist of UK bass to their good-humored house style.
Ghettos & Gardens features all previously unreleased material, including a new version of "Lezgo," Martin's 2011 track with Ardalan. Other guest appearances come from up-and-coming trio PillowTalk and Dirtybird newcomer Leroy Peppers.
