  • Jeff Mills, Nicolas Jaar and Shackleton will headline Montreal's annual MUTEK festival, happening May 30th to June 3rd. The city's five-day "festival of digital creativity and electronic music" will enter its thirteenth edition this year, highlighting collaboration and combination over the larger headlining acts of its last edition, which included Amon Tobin's ISAM and a rare Canadian appearance from Plastikman live. Among the acts representing this collaborative approach: Tim Hecker and Sunn 0)))'s Stephen O'Malley will perform at St. James United Church, Mathew Jonson and Minilogue will premiere a new collaborative live set, and the festival will also mark the official debut of Nouveau Palais, the new trio composed of Montreal's Lunice, Ango, and Vancouver's Prison Garde. Other artists announced include Kode9, Jimmy Edgar, Jan Jelinek as Farben, Bruno Pronsato's Public Lover project, Roll The Dice, Roly Porter and more. Passes for the festival will be available later today, with venue information and further acts to be announced.
