- The Atlanta producer will release his first album in April.
Distal will release his debut long-player Civilization on Tectonic in April.
Atlanta's Michael Rathbun emerged in 2010 on his own label Embassy Recordings, and by 2011 he was bringing an uptempo, footwork-infused sound to labels like Grizzly, Seclusiasis, Fortified Audio, and Pinch's Tectonic, which has tapped him for his first full-length. Made up entirely of previously unreleased tracks (though you might remember "Venom" from Pinch's Fabriclive mix earlier this year), Civilization takes a step back from Distal's recent high-tempo style, with speeds ranging between 120-130 BPM.
Civilization will be preceded by the release of Distal's second single on Tectonic, a collaboration with Vancouver producer HxdB called Booyant in March. He will embark on a tour of Europe in May and June to celebrate the release of Civilization.
