  • Nuits Sonores has announced the nighttime lineup for their 2012 festival. Last month the Lyon-based festival revealed New Order, Marcel Dettmann and Maya Jane Coles as headliners for its daytime component and the recently confirmed nighttime lineup adds a greater range of electronic music to the bill. Most of the night parties will operate out of Anciennes Usines Brossette—literally translated to "Old Brush Factory"—which will be split into three separate rooms. The first night sees one room host indie crossover outfit !!! as well as DJ sets from DFA boss James Murphy and Simian Mobile Disco, while in a different section of the venue Seth Troxler, Cassy and James Holden will bring a house vibe. The third night includes sets from Ed Banger founder Busy P and Brainfeeder boss Flying Lotus at the same stage as performances by rapper MF DOOM and New York MC Kool Keith. In a different room 3024 boss Martyn will be sharing a bill with Four Tet and Caribou who are playing a versus set together, while Space Dimension Controller and Detroit icon Theo Parrish will play the third section of the venue. The final night of Nuits Sonores will see Down & Out crew Magda, Marc Houle, Troy Pierce and Danny Benedettini close one part of the Old Brush Factory while Kode9, Clark and Mike Slott do likewise elsewhere. Circuit Electronique will run on the second night, featuring DJs from 15 cities that have been important in the development of electronic music and culture. Ten simultaneous events will take place around Lyon showcasing names like Surgeon from Birmingham, Robert Johnson and Frankfurt resident Gerd Janson, Londoners Pearson Sound and Pangaea from the Hessle Audio stable and an Ibiza showcase featuring a set from the island's iconic Balearic selector, Alfredo. Other nighttime events include an RBMA lecture with Jean-Michel Jarre after which his influential Oxygene LP will be performed by up-and-coming French electronic producers: disco duo Acid Washed, experimental musician Arandel and Lyon local Danger.
