  • French label Skylax Records will release an album from Jason Grove this week called 313.4.EVER. Skylax has been putting out tracks from lesser-known house producers since Hardrock Striker founded it eight years ago. In 2011, the label re-released the highly regarded Routes Not Roots from K-S.H.E., an alias of Terre Thaemlitz (AKA DJ Sprinkles). 313.4.EVER shows a secretive Detroit producer at work. Jason Grove, whose only other credits include two Lost Cuts EPs from last year on the Skylax sublabel Wax Classic, is allegedly a "hardcore" artist from Detroit who started out in the late '80s and originally recorded only to cassette tape. That narrative seems to fit neatly with 313.4.EVER: expect a deep dose of vocal-laden, analog house. The album features all previously unreleased tracks and will be available only on vinyl.
