- The Melbourne house and techno producer's first long player will be released on his own Haul Music imprint this month.
Mike Callander will release his debut album, Antarctica, this February on his own Haul Music imprint.
Antarctica will be the first-full length on the Melbourne label, which has been running since 2008, mostly releasing records by the three owners:Craig McWhinney, Christian Vance and Callander. Twilight, Callander's most recent release, and the label's first output on vinyl, was warmly received when it hit the shelves back in October of last year.
According to a press release, the album's title is a reference to the"cold reception" Callander's productions often receive from publications due to their erratic nature, a response he claims to enjoy. Antarctica pays respect to the long-player format while also "lamenting his isolation from the hit-hungry, chart-topping machinations of modern digital distribution," aiming to reward listeners who approach the work with patience.
