  • Underground Quality will throw one more label party at Tape in Berlin this Friday. Tape has been Underground Quality's home away from home since 2008, when Jus-Ed threw the label's first Berlin showcase there. He returned the next year with most of UQ's roster at the time (Levon Vincent, Fred P, Nina Kraviz, Anton Zap, DJ Qu and himself) for what was by many accounts the stuff of legend. Jus-Ed has hosted smaller parties at Tape since then, such as the weeknight Jam Sessions, but nothing as big as the party this Friday. Jus-Ed headlines with an early member of the UQ family, Fred P, plus a few of the label's more recent additions (Esteban Adame, BLM, Juniper, 2400 Operator and Owen Jay). Smallpeople, the trio behind Hamburg's Smallville Records, will play a set as well. Topping off the bill is a "very special surprise guest" who's "too hot to announce yet." Hard Wax will host an in-store party with Underground Quality on Thursday evening, where Jus-Ed and co will be selling UQ t-shirts that will get you into Tape for free the next night. The event comes about a month before Tape shuts its doors for good. We'll have more on that later this week.
