Ninja Tune has put together a remixed version of Bonobo's album Black Sands, due for release next month.
Bonobo has been making downtempo records for over a decade (and DJing for even longer), but his biggest breakthrough arguably came in 2010 when he released Black Sands, his most widely praised record so far. As the BBC put it: "There was little in Bonobo's first two albums... to suggest that Simon Green could ever craft anything as grand, expansive and accomplished as Black Sands." Black Sands Remixed collects reworks of tracks from the album by a cast of bass-oriented producers, from Mark Pritchard to Floating Points and Cosmin TRG. Most of the tracks included are previously unreleased.
