  • San Francisco's As You Like It crew will throw a party at Public Works on Friday, January 27th, showcasing the Ghostly International and Spectral labels. Sam Valenti IV founded Ghostly International in 1999, while Spectral was formed a few years after that. Since then, both imprints have kept an eye on the more experimental end of the dancefloor—with Ghostly usually favoring more pop-oriented sounds—and have released music from the likes of Matthew Dear (AKA Audion), Seth Troxler and Kate Simko. For next month's showcase in San Francisco, Ryan Crosson, perhaps better known as a member of Visionquest, will represent Spectral with a DJ set, and Ghostly regular Solvent will play live. Todd Osborne, a veteran of both labels, will also take a turn on the decks. While the eclectic sounds of Ghostly and Spectral take over Public Works' main room, Deep n' Disco will be the theme in the venue's Odd Job loft. DFA DJ Jacques Renault tops that room's lineup, and Eric Johnston and Rich Korach will play a versus set.
