  • Experimental artist Mark Van Hoen has a new album in the works for Editions Mego called The Revenant Diary, due for release in January. Van Hoen debuted in the early '90s as a founding member of Seefeel, the celebrated post rock band on Warp Records, but the lion's share of his work came later in a series of solo projects (Locust, W.F.O.) and collaborations, including the Seefeel side project Scala. According to a press release, Van Hoen started work on The Revenant Diary after finding a demo he'd made as a teenager in 1982. Inspired by the simplicity of the recording, he decided to compose his new album on four-track tape with a modest array of analog gear. The result is a reflective, loop-based LP that's at times fully ambient and at others gently rhythmic. The Revenant Diary is Van Hoen's first release on the Austrian label Editions Mego. The cover art is designed by visual artist and Sunn O))) member Stephen O'Malley. Tracklist 01. Look Into My Eyes 02. Garabndl x 03. Don't Look Back 04. I Remember 05.
