- Klik records will release the Greek DJ's first mix CD in December.
Jiannis Siopis will release his first mix CD, Ausländer, next month on Klik Records.
Siopis has been putting out records ever since he moved to Berlin nearly ten years ago, but for most of that time it was under the name Silver Surfer. He ditched that alias in 2008 and has since appeared only under his real name, but as Ausländer (German for "foreigner") shows, he continues to be inspired by themes of immigration and globalization, which were present since his first EP, Welcome to Berlin.
The mix is a mostly house and tech house affair, with selections from the likes of Greg Paulus of No Regular Play and Tanner Ross with Soul Clap. Siopis includes some of his own previously unreleased productions as well, including remixes of Alex Dimou and Kid Bliss. Though Siopis has appeared exclusively on Get Physical for the past few years, Ausländer will see release on the Athens-based label Klik Records.
