The 1,000+ capacity venue opens this month with Nicolas Jaar.
Leeds' Mint Club has a new venue in the works called Mint Warehouse, with the first party taking place later this month.
A number of things make Mint Club one of the best places to hear electronic music in Leeds: Funktion One Sound, Watergate-style lighting, frequent appearances by big international DJs, etc. Mint Warehouse brings these same ingredients (minus the LED lights) to an space that's double the size of the original, with one large dance floor, a more intimate upstairs room and a terrace.
Mint Warehouse will open its doors for the first time on Friday, January 27th to host the Leeds stop on Nicolas Jaar's "Don't Break My Love" tour, which also features Dinky, Acid Pauli, Soul Keita and a gaggle of resident DJs (presales for that one are sold out, but more tickets will be available at the door). The next night will see Joker, Jackmaster and Sub Focus descend on the venue for a party hosted by Leeds bass outfit Metropolis. Mint Warehouse will be a new home for other Leeds' parties as well: Goldie will headline Jungle Jam's 7th birthday there on February 10th, and Wax:On have booked Maya Jane Coles and Eats Everything for a party the following night. Other highlights over the next few months include events with Marco Carola, Derrick Carter and Laurent Garnier's LBS project.
