  • The first annual Great American Techno Festival will take place in Denver over four days starting on Thursday, September 29th. The festival focuses on "the marrying of Denver’s artisan beer scene with one of the nation’s richest electronic dance music scenes," with events taking place at venues across the city with a grip of techno artists from across the country. The weekend starts with a free Thursday night showcase of Denver DJs, including Scott Everett and Devious D. Friday sees another free event, this time an afternoon party in the park with local downtempo selector Ivy and others, before Droid Behavior's Audio Injection plays an extended club set later that night. The main event will take place on Saturday night with Camea and Tim Xavier, who will showcase their Berlin-based imprint Clink Recordings. On Sunday, the weekend winds down with one more free party: an indoor-outdoor, live-only event featuring another Clink artist, Tony Rohr, along with Jay Ahern AKA Cheap And Deep Productions, who will be merging his trippy techno improvisations with the abstract soundscapes of Morgan Packard.
