  • Starting tonight, Karat Records will takeover Point Ephémère for a two day event in celebration of their tenth birthday. Alex and Laetitia De Katapult's imprint has been a sturdy platform for (mainly) French house and minimal artists these past ten years, with producers like Cabanne, Ark, Guillaume & The Coutu Dumonts and Nôze fleshing out their discography. The promotions arm of the operation, Katapult, has also been a driving force on the Parisian club scene in recent years, staging regular events at Rex among more ad hoc parties at venues like Showcase, Machine Du Moulin Rouge and Zero Zero. The Point Ephémère art/music space will open its doors at midnight this evening for part one of the festivities, presenting a mixture of live acts and DJ sets. The decks will be warmed by Jennifer Cardini, Sonja Moonear and Mzkbx, with live sets coming from Chilean producer Dandy Jack and Karat's Le K and Mikael Weill. As a counterpoint to the debauchery, various workshops, demo sessions and stalls will be set-up outside the venue, creating a mini "electronic village" from 2:00 until 9:00 PM. Moving into the nighttime portion of proceedings, Ark and Cabanne will team up as the charmingly titled Copacabannark. Further live sets will come from Kill the DJ's Chloé and Dolibox, while Seuil and Alex and Laetitia De Katapult contribute DJ sets.
