  • Leyland Kirby, AKA The Caretaker, will release a new album in October called Eager To Tear Apart the Stars through his own label, History Always Favours The Winners. Though RA's Todd L. Burns found him to be quite upbeat in person, Kirby's records are defined by a deep melancholy and contemplativeness that's laid clear in his titles: An Empty Bliss Beyond This World, "Mental Caverns Without Sunshine," "The Sublime Is Disappointingly Elusive," and so on. This mood is reflected in the music itself, often a sparse and haunting affair that samples old ballroom records as source material. According to The Quietus, Eager to Tear Apart the Stars continues in this vein. It will be Kirby's first full-length under his own name since the 2009 triple-disc album Sadly, the Future Is No Longer What It Was. Tracklist 01. The Arrow Of Time 02. This Is The Story Of Paradise Lost 03. To Reject The World 04. No Longer Distance Than Death 05. They Are All Dead, There Are No Skip At All 06. My Dream Contained A Star History Always Favours The Winners will release Eager to Tear Apart the Stars on October 3rd, 2011.
