  • Kihon is the third album from Alexander Neumann, AKA Alex Cortex, and is poised to drop in October. Neumann has been producing experimental electronica and techno since the mid-'90s with his records finding homes on a number of respected German imprints such as Source Records, Klang Elektronik and Kanzleramt. Copying the format of his previous two albums—Laconic and Inward CTRLKihon is another collection of nameless tracks that wander through techno, IDM and ambient terrain. According to a press release the title Kihon refers to the "basics" or "fundamentals" in Japanese martial arts that are handed down, and in essence exist beyond time. Kihon seeks to put a focus on the musical "bare essentials," in turn readdressing how we listen to and perceive music "as a background sound." Tracklist 01. Untitled 02. Untitled 03. Untitled 04. Untitled 05. Untitled 06. Untitled 07. Untitled 08. Untitled 09. Untitled 10. Untitled 11. Untitled Pomelo will release Kihon on October 17th, 2011.
