  • DJ Cam will release Seven through his own Inflamable imprint in October. The French Touch mainstay and trip-hop pioneer has returned to his roots for his seventh full-length effort, and has reportedly emerged with his most personal album to date. "After the acoustic album Soulshine and various projects with high-profile collaborations and large groups, I wanted to get back to the essentials of being a producer: going into the studio alone, having total freedom, and allowing my inspiration free reign," comments Daumail. "Seven has turned out to be so intimate because I approached it in the same way as my earliest tracks; with experimentation and pleasure as the prime motivation." Written in Paris and Los Angeles—where he is now based— Seven adds pop and folk touches to his usual jazz and hip-hop palette via a series of guest vocalists. Stateless' Chris James makes a number of appearances, with long-time Massive Attack collaborator Nicolette and new Inflamable signing Inlove lending their talents as well. Tracklist 01.
