- Connaisseur will release Per Aspera Ad Astra in October.
This October, Connaisseur Recordings will release a compilation of remixes by Wareika, entitled Per Aspera Ad Astra.
Wareika is known for their unique take on electro-acoustic production—an organic, almost jazzy sound that blurs the line between live and electronic performance, led by Florian Schirmacher's crooning vocals. This style characterizes their dozens of original productions—including albums last year on Perlon and Tartelet—and extends to their remixes, which they've done for the likes of Gus Gus and Mathias Kaden among others. Per Aspera Ad Astra ("Through Hardships to the Stars") collects ten of Wareika's reworks of other artists and makes an 80-minute album out of them, complete with original intro and outro pieces. The release features one previously unreleased track: the group's remix of "Tristesse" by Kollektiv Turmstrasse.
