  • Elevate Festival returns to Graz in October, running between the 20th and 26th. The seventh edition of the art and music festival is shaping up to deliver another eclectic program of electronic music. From the first batch of artists announced, British bass factions will be represented by Loefah and Boddika from his Swamp 81 clan, along with rising drum & bass force Rockwell. Space Dimension Controller will bring disco flavours to the bill, which also includes Hessle honcho Pearson Sound and distorted techno duo Somatic Responses. Badawi has been confirmed as well, along with Detroit wonderboy Kyle Hall, Morphosis and Berlin-based duo Hype Williams. A selection of Austrian artists will also make their way onto the lineup. So far Graz-local Simon/off has been announced, whose productions have most recently found a home on Bristolian Kid Kut's Immerse Records. Viennese producers The Clonious and Cid Rim will also perform head-to-head as on their Full Nelson EP, released last year through Affine Records. Once more an arts and "political discourse" program will run parallel to the four days of music taking place in the city's central Schlossberg venue. This year's selection of panel discussions, Q&A's, workshops, films and lectures will dissect the future in the face of technological advancement, around the central theme "Elevate the 21st Century."
