  • Leisure Systems 13 takes over Berghain and Panorama Bar on Friday 16th September. At the core of the Berlin party brand—managed by Ned Beckett (DJ N>E>D), Sam Barker (Voltek) and Michail Stangl (Area Boy)—is a desire to present futuristic ideas with a nod to dance music's legacy. This has materialised through lineups that offer a blend of challenging and floor-friendly acts, such as Night Slugs co-founder Bok Bok and coarse techno artist Richard Devine featuring on last month's bill. While normally inhabiting the Berghain floor, for their third birthday Leisure Systems will take charge of the Panorama Bar program as well. So far Jackmaster, Space Dimension Controller and landokal" data-artist-news-link="true">Lando Kal have been billed to play with DJ N>E>D and Area Boy upstairs, along with another surprise guest. Downstairs Sam Barker and Puzzle will support sets from rising Hessle/R&S force Blawan, Objekt and Warp duo Africa Hitech. Topping the bill will be Planet Mu madman Venetian Snares, whose latest effort, the Cubist Reggae EP, dropped in May. This week also saw the launch of the Leisure Systems label with its debut release, the Iron And Cream EP, coming from Moscow artist Pixelord. The vinyl version will be available from August 8th.
