  • Modeselektor, Apparat and more are set to play at the Tauron Nowa Muzyka festival this August. The Polish festival, which has been running for six years, is located in a former coal-mine in Katowice, just 500 km from Berlin, and was awarded Best Small Festival at the European Festival Awards this year. The phrase "Nowa Muzyka" in the event's title means "new music" and this is at the heart of the festival's ethos. This year promising Londoner Jamie Woon closes the festival, and he is joined on the bill by fellow up-and-coming artists such as Lorn of Ninja Tune and Berliners Bodi Bill as well as the established acts like Superpitcher and Matias Aguayo. In addition to the music there are some aspects of the festival which occur off-site, including photo exhibitions and film screenings.
