Nightmares on Wax will release a compilation called Wax Da Beach later this month through Ministry Of Sound.
2007 was a turning point for Warp's longest serving artist, Nightmares on Wax originator George Evelyn. After ten years of steady releases through that respected imprint, Evelyn launched his own Wax On Records "to deliver quality music with that certain 'soul factor'", so states the label's website. Shortly after he relocated to Ibiza, where he promptly began his Wax Da Beach sessions that have since spawned club nights and large one-off events throughout the island.
For Wax Da Beach, Evelyn has selected a number of Nightmares on Wax classics and tracks from the Wax On back-catalogue, including efforts from Parisian trip hop producer Guts, downbeat duos Gelka and The Deadbeats as well as Wax Da Beach co-host Danial Ward, AKA Negghead.
