- Scuba, Mark Ernestus, FaltyDL, Julio Bashmore and many more will play at the third anniversary of Berghain's quarterly bass night.
- On Friday 15th July, Sub:stance will celebrate the third anniversary of its residency at Berghain. Despite its apprehensive beginnings, which RA heard about on the cusp of last year's anniversary, Scuba's Sub:stance brand has become a Berlin club staple, and with it poised to hit the States next month, is seeping into the international consciousness as well. Alongside esteemed dubstep figures like DMZ originators Mala and Loefah, the quarterly series has dabbled in all styles of bass music, whetting garage, dub and even drum & bass appetites. As with last year's birthday, the bill for next week's party engulfs both Berghain and Panorama Bar with a mix of veteran and rising talents. Panorama Bar will cater to the 4/4-inclined, with Maya Jane Coles, Julio Bashmore, Recondite and BBC jock Gilles Peterson, plus Sub:stance co-founder Paul Spymania and John Osborn. Meanwhile, the downstairs room will feature sets from Scuba, dub techno godfather Mark Ernestus, George FitzGerald, FaltyDL and Dillinja. Hotflush duo Sepalcure will play live, and Scuba will return to the decks at 7:00 AM to DJ until close.
