  • Labor Day weekend will see the North Coast Music Festival return to Union Park in Chicago. Billed as "Summer's Last Stand", North Coast Music Festival takes place over three days on multiple stages on the city's Near West Side, and also features a collection of after-parties at venues around the city. Thanks to the variety of local promoters involved in the event, the lineup is very eclectic, with big name DJs as well as indie rock and jam bands. This year's headliners are David Guetta, Bassnectar and STS9. Those looking for more action on the decks can check out Carl Cox, Benny Benassi and James Zabiela, while Rusko, SBTRKT and Zeds Dead bring the bass. Thievery Corporation will provide some low-key beats, and Diplo will play with Dave Taylor as Major Lazer. A few electronic-leaning live bands will also be on hand, including Lotus, Of Montreal Little Dragon. Big beat icon Fatboy Slim will make an appearance as well, along with Chicago's own Smart Bar residents Orchard Lounge. More additions will be announced in the months ahead.
