  • This summer, !K7 will release a new album by Stereo MC's, entitled Emperor's Nightingale. Stereo MC's rose to fame in the '90s, eventually becoming one of the UK's biggest rap groups, thanks in part to massive singles like "Connected." For their new full-length, central duo Nick Hallam and Rob Birch have moved away from their usual sample-based approach to create an album that grew out of "old school jam sessions, with bass, guitar, drums and vocals." "We've really had to re-learn how to make music," says Birch. "But when you actually start to see some progress, and hear yourself making some sounds that you've never made before, your enthusiasm really starts to generate again. And then you get a grip on it, and you start to see what you can do. It's like we're not really in the dark any more." Emperor's Nightingale will be the group's debut on !K7. It features a number of collaborations, including a vocal appearance from Jamie Cullum on the first single, "Boy." Tracklist 01. Wooden Heart 02. Boy feat. Jamie Cullum 03. Phase Me 04. Far Out Feeling 05. Sunny Day 06. Manner 07. Tales 08. 2cando 09. Bring It On (Path To The Mind And The Soul And The Spirit) 10. Levitation 11. Desert Song 12. Wooden Heart Reprise !K7 Records will release Emperor's Nightingale in September 2011.
