  • Volatl and alias. will host Mr C for a rooftop edition of Superfreq in Chicago next Saturday. Mr C (real name Richard West) has been a fixture in underground house circles since the '80s. He founded Superfreq nine years ago The End, his legendary club in London. Now based in Los Angeles, he has taken the party concept to events around the world. His Chicago appearance next weekend will be his third visit to the Windy City in the last year: after a club night at Spy Bar last summer and a loft party a few months ago, he'll take over the rooftop of Sully's, a bar and patio in the Weed Street district on the Near North Side. Also on the bill are Xo-Chic, a resident at LA's Superfreq events, and Detroit duo Heisenberg & Sheila. Sets by local DJs Jason Patrick and Joee Irwin will round out the afternoon, which will also celebrate the 30th birthday of Volatl director Nadia Podalsky. To sweeten the deal, Mr C will make a Superfreq mix CD exclusive to the party that will be given to the first 50 ticket buyers. Tickets are available here on RA.
