  • Locked On will stage a showcase event alongside It's A UKG Thing at east London venue The Shackwell Arms on Saturday 30th July. Starting out life in London back in 1996, Locked On emerged as the most widely recognized and successful proponent of the UK garage sound. Looking back over the label's discography now, it's clear that by the time Locked On wrapped up its operations in the late '00s it had released more hit UK garage records than any of its contemporaries by quite some distance—Somore's "I Refuse (What You Want)," Zed Bias' "Neighbourhood," Artful Dodger and Romina Johnson's "Movin' Too Fast," Wideboys' "Sambucca," US Alliance's "All I Know" and singles/albums by The Streets represent just a snapshot of its extensive back-catalogue. At The Shackwell Arms, Locked On and Pure Groove's DJ Ziad will be dusting off the collection, presenting a "complete history of the label" alongside a classic garage set from prolific producers/DJs/remixers Ramsey & Fen. Warming things up will be Stacey Tang from east London R&B classics night Bangers & Mash Up.
