- Jennifer Cardini mixes up the German producer's remixes on a new collection, due out in July.
The next edition of Nang Records' New Masters Series collects remixes by Justus Kohncke, and is mixed by Jennifer Cardini.
Kohncke is probably best known for his delicate electronic productions on Kompakt, but the German producer has been involved in a variety of other projects over the years as well. From early on in his career, he produced theatre and film scores, sometimes alongside Irmin Schmidt, one of the founding members of pioneer Krautrock group Can. He's also done a number of fairly high profile remixes, from Depeche Mode to The Human League to Hot Chip. Entitled Fussmaschine, Nang's upcoming collection focuses on these reworks, and enlists French DJ and producer Jennifer Cardini to mix them together. It's the third installment in the English label's New Masters series, following last fall's edition, which collected remixes by The Time and Space Machine.
