- The mysterious bass artist's first LP is due out on Infrasonic's this month.
Later this month, UK bass producer Spatial will release a compilation of his productions to date.
Spatial's music is often described as dubstep, but only for lack of a better term. His stark, syncopated records borrow elements of garage, dancehall and 2-step, creating a sound that calls to mind artists like Burial or 2562. The secretive producer first appeared back in 2008 with an cryptic EP on Infrasonics–the label's first release. That record set the blueprint for all of Spatial's material since: an untitled 10-inch with abstract cover art and five-digit numbers for track names. He's put out three more EPs since then, some of which came with vouchers for digital downloads. The new LP includes all of his productions so far, some of which have only been available on vinyl until now.
