  • Two east coast techno crews will join forces this month when New York DJ's Spinoza and Eric Cloutier bring the sounds of The Bunker to Pittsburgh's Istanbul lounge for a night hosted by Humanaut. The Bunker has long been popular destination for heady electronic music in New York, as seen in their esoteric bookings and their collaborations with Berghain/Panorama Bar and Unsound Festival. Spinoza, formally known as Bryan Kasenic and originally from Pittsburgh, is the mind behind the Beyond Booking concept that has been producing Bunker events for eight years. He'll be joined by Cloutier, a Bunker resident also known for his mixes on the mnml ssgs blog and DJ gigs around the world, including a set at Japan's acclaimed Labyrinth festival. Pittsburgh's Humanaut crew shares a similar penchant for forward-thinking techno and house: both promoters have booked the likes of Donato Dozzy and Traversable Wormhole for their parties. With eccentric local artist Edgar Um taking to the decks to start the party, guests can expect a night full of innovative dance music kindly supplemented by a bring-your-own-beer policy.
