  • Mary Anne Hobbs will return to London radio station Xfm this summer. The DJ began her career in radio with Xfm during the early '90s before being head-hunted by Radio 1, which is where she remained for 14 years. During the latter stages of her term with the station Hobbs became enamoured with the emerging sounds of the capital's dubstep and grime scenes, and is now credited for playing a major role in aiding the reach and development of the sounds. Hobbs announced last summer that she was to leave her post at the helm of the station's experimental show, although at that time it was unclear whether she would return to radio. "I'm thrilled that Xfm has given me the opportunity to deliver the music that I'm so passionate about, on a primetime Saturday night platform," said Hobbs. "Every week I'll be bringing future sounds and guest mixes from some of the most forward thinking artists on earth. It's going to be a no holds barred blitz of new music personally selected by me with a focus on pushing the frontiers and breaking new boundaries."
