  • Secret Cinema is ready to release his next artist album, entitled Minerals. Jeroen Verheij has long been an icon of Dutch electronic music. Working under a multitude of pseudonyms (primarily Secret Cinema, Meng Syndicate and Grooveyard), he's penned dozens of 12-inches since the early '90s, primarily for the Rotterdam label EC Records (with one notable exception being Jazz Me, released through Cocoon in 2009). Minerals is his first album in five years, and shows two very different sides of his talent. It features two discs, both mixed. The first is classic Secret Cinema: punchy techno with guest appearances by Ramon Tapia, Cosima, Moh and Egbert. The second, produced in collaboration with Mental Youth (aka Dirk-Jan Hanegraaff and Robert Kroos), is made up of ambient tracks using many of the same sounds that appeared on CD 1. The album comes with a download voucher for anyone keen on getting unmixed tracks. Minerals is scheduled for release in May. It will be the first full-length on Verheij's label, Gem Records. Tracklist CD1: Night on Earth 01. Intro - Exploration 02. Smooth Talc 03. Crystal System (with Ramon Tapia) 04. Turquoise 05. Calcite Night 06. Moh's Scale (with Kalden Boss AKA Moh) 07.
