- The New York legend goes over the hill in style this weekend at Best Buy Theater.
Legendary DJ Danny Tenaglia will celebrate his 50th birthday this weekend at Best Buy Theater on Broadway.
It's safe to say Tenaglia is one of the most important DJs ever to come out of New York City. His multi-decade career has led him all the way from the Paradise Garage in the '70s through to Tunnel and Twilo in the '90s, and finally to Pacha NYC where he appears most often these days. The event this weekend won't be a normal "party" in any sense of the word. For one, it will take place in Times Square, with Phantom of the Opera playing just down the street. Swarms of roller skaters and "runway divas" are somehow involved, and the whole thing is hosted by Vivacious and Anthony "Man in a Dress With a Goatee" Lamont. As for the music, DJ Burchan and DJ Vibe will get things warmed up, and house group Crystal Waters will play live. Naturally, Tenaglia is the night's headlining act. The party is scheduled to run until noon on Sunday.
