  • Details have been announced for this year's L.E.V. Festival, taking place on April 29th and 30th in Spain. The letters L.E.V. stand for "Laboratorio de Electrónica Visual," or Visual Electronic Laboratory, and the two-day festival is precisely that. Performers are chosen not just for their music but also for the visual component they bring to the stage, which explains video-enhanced bookings like Pantha Du Prince, Demdike Stare and contemporary composer Jóhann Jóhannsson. Other highlights for this year include Darkstar, Lorn, SBTRKT, Photek and Global Communication member Mark Pritchard, AKA Harmonic 313. The program includes video screenings as well, from artists like Montreal's Herman Kolgan and the German collective Transforma. The whole event takes place at Laboral Ciudad de la Cultura, a cultural complex in the coastal city of Gijon, Spain.
