- Macro will release a recording of the trio's innovative live show in April.
This April, Macro will release an album that shows Austrian trio Elektro Guzzi doing what they do best: playing live.
Both on record and on stage, Elektro Guzzi's aim is simple: to play techno music with the traditional rock arrangement of bass, guitar and drums. None of their performances use laptops or pre-recorded loops, and none of their recordings have any overdubs. It's a sound and an attitude that easily piqued the interest of Macro, whose co-manager, Finn Johannsen, said the group's album "proves that it's still mandatory to listen to all the demos you get."
Simply entitled Live P.A., the new album documents Elekto Guzzi's performance at Red Bull Music Academy in London last year—a set you may remember from their RA Podcast. The performance was recorded by Brian "Octave" Harding, an engineer who's worked in the past with dub legend Lee "Scratch" Perry, and newly mastered for the album by Patrick Pulsinger, who's done studio work on all of the group's material so far.
