- Hercules & Love Affair, Sally Shapiro and Legowelt all guest.
Wolfram Eckert, sometimes known as marfloW, will release his debut album this March under the name Wolfram.
Though he's only released a handful of club tracks to date, the 28-year-old Austrian is an established figure in the disco world. In 2005 he launched his own label, Diskokaine, which put out the first album by the Swedish artist Sally Shapiro. For years he's shuttled between Vienna and New York to play parties, and word has it he introduced Andy Butler of Hercules & Love Affair to Austrian producer Patrick Pulsinger, who later produced the group's latest full-length, Blue Songs.
Wolfram moves away from the "club whips" Eckert's churned out in the past, focusing instead on four-minute pop songs, and enlists some high profile cameos along the way. Pulsinger and Shapiro appear on the album, and Andy Butler sings with Kim Ann Foxman on the track "Fireworks." Other guest appearances from House of House, Legowelt, veteran disco singer Paul Parker and Haddaway (yes, that Haddaway). The album will be Wolfram's debut on German disco establishment Permanent Vacation.
